NAMPA, Idaho – Quality marks in the throws and season opening performances in the sprints highlighted the start of the 2019 College of Idaho men's indoor track season at the Jackson's Invitational inside the Ford Idaho Center's Jackson's Track.

Josh Brown picked up a fifth-place finish in the 35-pound weight throw, recording a mark of 50-feet (15.24 meters) in his opening throw of the day, while teammate
Stephen Campbell led a trio of Coyotes to surpass 46 feet in the shot put with a fifth-place finish (46 feet, 7.25 inches / 14.20 meters). Brown was sixth with a shot mark of 46-4 (14.14 m) and
Alec Kuzmack took seventh (46-4 / 14.13 m).
In the jumps,
Kristopher Kostelecky opened his junior season with a fifth-place finish in the long jump (20-7.25 / 6.28 m).
Matt McLaughlin made a push to qualify for the NAIA Championships in the 600-meters, coming up a bit short with his fifth-place finish (1:25.80), while
Devin Gaskins had the Yotes top mark in both the 60-meters (7.34 seconds) and 200-meters (23.32).
The entire C of I team will make their season debut next weekend at the two-day Ed Jacoby Invitational.
