TACOMA, Wash. – Playing in their final collegiate match,
Megan Huffman and
Erin Huffman combined for a doubles win and each logged singles victories, helping the College of Idaho close out the season with a 6-3 victory over Pacific Lutheran at Sprinker Recreation Center.
The Huffman sisters, playing in their home state, helped the Lady Yotes (2-5) win two of the three doubles points for the second-straight day – topping the Lutes Lauren Kearney and Bayley Gochanour, 8-5, at No. 2.
Megan Huffman earned a convincing win at No. 3 singles over Gochanour (6-1, 6-1), while
Erin Huffman battled for a 7-5, 7-6 win over Kristi Floyd at No. 4 – clinching the team win over PLU (3-16).
Alex Sorte and
Natalie Little each had a big day – combining for an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles over Kristi Floyd and Victoria Bolshakova – with Sorte topping Hannah Jeffries at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-3) and Little defeating Kearney in three sets at No. 5 (6-2, 5-7, 1-0).
