TACOMA, Wash. – Despite winning two of the three doubles' points, the College of Idaho was unable to win multiple tight singles' matches, as Puget Sound rallied for a 7-2 victory at the UPS Tennis Pavilion.
The Lady Yotes (1-5) started strong, as
Erin Huffman and
Megan Huffman teamed at No. 2 doubles, defeating Bridget Myers and Tresa Bild 7-3 in a deciding tiebreaker to win their match, 9-8. At No. 3,
Natalie Little and
Alex Sorte grinded out an 8-6 win over Claire Fitzgerald and Barclay Fagg.
The Loggers (6-6) got solid wins at No. 1 and No. 5 singles – but fought off valiant play from C of I in the remaining four matches.
Myers earned a crucial 6-4, 6-4 win over
Erin Huffman at No. 2, while Nichole Bouche outlasted
Megan Huffman in three sets (6-4, 2-6, 6-3). Fitzgerald topped
Hailey Boyd 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 to clinch the win for UPS.
C of I closes out their season tomorrow with a match at Pacific Lutheran.
