LEWISTON, Idaho – Playing inspired tennis throughout the morning, the College of Idaho showed marked improvement against a national tournament opponent, as the Lady Yotes dropped a tight 6-3 decision to in-state rival Lewis-Clark State at the LCSC Tennis Center.

C of I (0-1) picked up two wins by default (at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles) and added a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles by sophomore
Natalie Little over Judy Boozer.
The Yotes were close in three of the five remaining matches – including holding a 4-1 lead at one point at No. 2 doubles before the team of Sophie Uhlenkott and Laura Diaz outlasted C of I's Little and
Alex Sorte, 9-7. Sisters
Erin Huffman and
Megan Huffman played well at No. 1 doubles, dropping a tough 8-5 decision to Hannah Uhlenkott and Begona Andrews, while Uhlenkott defeated
Hailey Boyd, 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
C of I continues weekend play tomorrow in Spokane, meeting Division III Whitworth University.
