NAMPA, Idaho – The College of Idaho men's throwers opened up the 2018-19 indoor track season at the Jackson's Open held at the Ford Idaho Center's Jackson's Track.
Senior
Josh Brown, fresh off an all-conference football season, kick-started the season with a fifth-place effort in the 35-pound weight throw (15.38 meters / 50 feet, 5.5 inches), with freshman Stephen Campbell making an immediate impact, taking fourth in the shot put (14.40 m / 47-3).
Two newcomers competed in both events – with freshman Collin Glass taking tenth in the shot put (12.34 m / 40-6) and adding a mark of 11.89 meters (39-0) in the weight throw, while transfer Alec Kuzmack recording marks of 12.30 meters (40-4) in the shot and 11.17 meters (36-7) in the weight throw.
Sophomore
Zach Rickard – also a two-sport athlete – recorded a mark of 10.93 meters (35-10) in the shot put.
C of I will return to action in mid-January, starting a string of four-straight meets in Nampa.
