BURNABY, B.C. – Outscoring Gonzaga University 12-2 in the final 30 minutes, the College of Idaho advanced to their first-ever PNCLL Division II championship game, cruising to a 17-5 victory over the Bulldogs at Terry Fox Field.
Nich Guzzetti scored six goals – becoming the first Coyote ever to crack the 50-goal mark for a season – as the squad improved to 12-0 on the year, needing one win to advance to the MCLA National Championships.
The Coyotes (12-0) will meet the University of Montana tomorrow at 11 a.m. (PT) in the title game – the first meeting with the Grizzlies since the early years of the program.
The Bulldogs (6-5) played the Coyotes tough for the first two quarters, as C of I led just 5-3 at the break. However,

Dillon Green for a score just 14 seconds into the third quarter, Guzzetti found the net off a
Jaden Carson feed and
Aaron Canode scored twice to break the game open.
C of I outscored GU 7-1 over the final quarter – taking advantage of four man-advantage opportunities.
Green finished with four goals and a pair of assists, Canode had three goals and
Jason Leach added a pair.
