BOISE, Idaho - The College of Idaho went toe-to-toe with No. 23 ranked Lewis-Clark State inside the Boas Tennis Center, with the Lady Yotes playing some inspired tennis in a 9-0 setback to their in-state rivals.
The Warriors (2-5) took all three doubles points - with
Erin Huffman and
Megan Huffman winning four games at No. 1 in their loss to Hannah Uhlenkott and Stephanie Buckingham, with
Allie Boyd and
Vanessa Almaraz also losing a tough 8-4 decision to Laura Rosselli and Isabelle de Pietro.
In singles play, the Yotes (1-4) dropped all six matches, but saw freshman
Alex Sorte win the first set in her match at No. 2 with Uhlenkott before eventually dropping the match, 4-6, 6-0, 6-0. Hayley Boyd forced a tiebreaker at No. 5, dropping a 7-6, 7-5 decision to Begonia Andres.
The Lady Yotes return to action Sunday - again in Boise - against Montana State.
