NAMPA, Idaho – The College of Idaho fell to rival Northwest Nazarene, 1-0, in a road exhibition match on Friday afternoon.
The lone goal came in the 41st minute of the first half from Ashley Cook-Cox on a 10 yard shot, striking the top of the net.
Jamiece Yizar and
Mallory Cripps led the Yotes with three shots, two on goal for Yizar and one for Cripps.
Hannah Coverley recorded two shots while
Hailey Boyd,
Emma Powley and
Victoria Cerda tallied one shot each.
Brittany Houghton played all game at goalie, saving a game leading seven shots.
The Yotes were outshot 17-11 in the game but were on the offensive in the second half, outshooting the Crusaders 9-5.The College of Idaho also led in corner kicks (4-2) and saves (7-4).
The Yotes are 1-1 on the early season and will host Linfield on September 4th at home. The home opener will kick-off at 12 p.m.
