TACOMA, Wash. – Three different College of Idaho players scored at least five goals and the Yotes pitched a shutout in the second half in cruising to a 21-5 victory over Pacific Lutheran in Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League crossover action at Franklin Pierce Stadium.
Nich Guzzetti led the way with six goals and four assists for the Yotes (3-0), including four consecutive goals in a seven-goal first period surge that built a 9-1 lead.
Dillon Green added five goals and an assist, including two counters in the second frame that helped C of I extend the margin to 15-5 at the break.
The Yotes defense did it from there, as
V.J. Dahm and Matthew Weese turned away the Lutes (0-5) to just six shots after the break.
Ian Williams scored five goals for C of I, with both
Jason Leach and
Tyler Sanchez scoring a goal and adding an assist.
C of I takes next week off before traveling to Utah for match-ups against both Weber State and Utah State.
