BOISE, Idaho – Competing against one of the premier tennis programs in the Northwest, the College of Idaho played well against Division I Boise State, eventually falling 7-0 to the Broncos at the Boas Tennis Center.
Complete Results BSU (5-7) claimed the doubles point by losing just one game at the top two positions in the ladder, but the Lady Yotes hung tough at No. 3, as
Laura Humphreys and
Vanessa Almaraz dropped a 6-3 decision to Nancy Menjivar and Kristy Venter.
The Broncos had success in singles' play, sweeping matches at No. 1 and No. 4, with Megan LaLone's 6-1, 6-0 victory over
Allie Boyd at No. 2 sealing the team victory.
The Yotes (3-5) got quality performances from
Erin Huffman at No. 3, losing to Menjivar 6-2, 6-1; with
Melissa O'Berto hanging tough against Venter at No. 6 before falling 6-3, 6-1.
C of I returns to Boise on Saturday morning to meet Lewis-Clark State at 10 a.m. before hosting Willamette (at River City Racquet Club) on Sunday morning at 8 a.m.
