LEWISTON, Idaho – The College of Idaho opened up the 2016 women's tennis season with a pair of setbacks against high-caliber opponents inside the LCSC Tennis Center.
Seattle U. Results LCSC Results The Lady Yotes dropped a 7-0 decision to NCAA Division I Seattle University, while host and nationally ranked Lewis-Clark State stopped C of I, 9-0.
Against the Redhawks (4-4), a one-time NAIA Region I rival, both
Hailey Boyd and
Allie Boyd at No. 2 doubles and
Laura Humphreys and
Vanessa Almaraz at No. 3 doubles won two games in their pro-set, while
Erin Huffman won three games in the first set in her No. 3 singles match
Against the Warriors (1-2), Humphreys and Almaraz battled at No. 3 doubles, dropping an 8-4 decision to Kianna Arthur and Jen Roux.
Allie Boyd fought hard at No. 2 singles, falling 6-0, 6-4 to Hannah Ulenkott, with Almaraz coming up just short at No. 6 singles against Roux – 6-1, 6-4.
C of I (0-2) opens their home schedule next Saturday with a pair of matches against the University of Puget Sound at the River City Racquet Club in Nampa.
