Box ScoreNAMPA, Idaho – Nicole Nsa scored a pair of goals, lifting Northwest Nazarene to a 2-0 exhibition victory over the College of Idaho on the NNU campus.
Nsa got the Crusaders on the board in the 16th minute, as Lexi Fesenbek took a pass on the left side of the field, raced to the end line, touching a pass to Nsa, who tapped the ball into the net for the 1-0 lead.
NNU added to the lead in the 40th minute, when Nsa was fouled just outside the box, looping the free kick into the corner of the net for the two-goal lead.
The Yotes put pressure on the Crusaders in the second half, getting a pair of corner kicks and shots on goal by Katelyn Benavidez and Jamiece Yizar in the first six minutes. In the 73rd minute, Hailey Boyd rocketed a shot off the cross bar in C of I's best chance of the day.
NNU keepers Chloe Sholtz and Daniele Ortiz made four saves in combining for the shutout. The Crusaders held a 17-11 edge in total shots and a 6-3 margin in corner kicks.
C of I returns to action on Sunday, hosting Sierra Nevada at 1:30 p.m.
