FOREST GROVE, Ore. - Sisters Erin Huffman and Megan Huffman completed a perfect road trip with their third-straight doubles victory, but it wasn't enough as Pacific University rallied for a 5-4 victory over the College of Idaho today at the Hulce Tennis Courts.
Complete ResultsThe freshman twin sisters improved to 3-0 at the No. 2 position, defeating Jelena Vidovic and Sidney Smith, 9-7. Â The Lady Yotes (1-2) had the lead going into singles play, as Vanessa Almaraz and Laura Humphreys combined to defeat Carlee Rhodaback and Danielle Wicks, 8-2, at No. 3.
The Boxers (1-0) took the lead in the match with victories at the top two positions and clinched victory with Rhoaback's 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles over Erin Huffman. Â
C of I received singles wins from Megan Huffman at No. 3, defeating Smith 7-5, 7-6, and at No. 6, as Almaraz topped Kanani Kea, 7-5, 6-3.
The Yotes will be off until early March, when the squad heads to Tacoma, Wash., for matches at Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran.
