BOISE, Idaho - The College of Idaho, 1350 KTIK-AM, and Jon Carson Productions are teaming up to provide live radio broadcasts of the Coyote football team's return to the gridiron this fall. All 11 regular-season C of I football games will be broadcast live on KTIK and streamed live online at
www.ktik.com.
"We have had amazing support for the return of football at The College of Idaho, and having a broadcast program in place will help grow our fan base even more," C of I Athletic Director Marty Holly said. "It's especially nice to have this kind of reach when we hit the road."
The broadcast agreement also features pre- and post-game programming and a 6 p.m. Monday show with C of I head coach Mike Moroski . The coach's show will continue to be hosted by C of I sports information director Mike Safford, who also calls minor league baseball games on KTIK for the Boise Hawks.
"We're building a first-class program here at the College of Idaho, and part of that mission includes a flagship radio station to broadcast our games," Moroski said.
KTIK, a part of the Cumulus Radio Group, also airs Boise Hawks baseball, Idaho Steelheads hockey and a variety of local and syndicated sports talk shows as part of the CBS Sports Radio Network. In addition to the live broadcasts on KTIK-AM, Coyote football games will be promoted and featured in a weekly "Yotes Gridiron" segment on their sister station, 93.1 KTIK-FM.
"Adding more local action is our way of providing a great service for listeners while staying on our platform of providing the best local sports coverage possible," KTIK Program Director David Allen said.
KTIK's on-air broadcast team will include award-winning sportscaster Dave Tester calling play-by-play. The color analysis and sideline reporting roles have yet to be filled.
"Marty Holly, C of I President Marv Henberg and Cumulus Radio Market Manager Don Morin worked diligently with us to build a broadcast foundation for this year that we hope will promote and serve Yotes Football and its fans well into the future," said Claudia Weathermon Tester, vice-president of producer Jon Carson Productions.
The season begins with a live broadcast Sept. 6 as the Yotes take on Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore. The home opener is set for Sept. 13 versus Montana Western.
