CALDWELL, Idaho - Dillon Green scored five goals and assisted on two others, as the College of Idaho remained unbeaten on the season, opening their home schedule with a 16-6 victory over Central Washington at Symms Field.
After a sluggish start to the first quarter, defenseman Zac Holley made a long run and scored the opening goal - sparking the Coyotes (2-0) to a 6-0 lead after the opening frame. Three consecutive Austin Mendiola unassisted goals in the second period helped C of I build a 12-2 edge at the break.
A Ian Williams tally and back-to-back Green goals in the second half put the game away for the Yotes.
Williams finished with four goals and two assists, with Mendiola adding four counters. Goalkeeper V.J. Dahm was stellar, making 13 saves.
C of I continues their home stand tomorrow at Noon, hosting Puget Sound.
