NEWBERG, Ore. - Playing their first match in two weeks, the College of Idaho showed marked improvement, but dropped a 9-0 decision to George Fox at the GFU Tennis Courts.
Freshman Emily Tesnohlidek earned the first set victory by a C of I player in 2013, but could not hold off the Bruins Shania Inn in the superbreaker, falling 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-4).
The Lady Yotes (0-2) also got good play from Hayley Hutchings at No. 2 singles, losing 6-2, 6-1 to Alyssa Emoto, and from Emilee Chapman, who lost at No. 5 singles to Bethany Nyugen, 6-3, 6-2.
The Bruins (3-5) won all three doubles' matches convincingly, taking 24 of the 26 games played.
The C of I returns to action tomorrow morning with a match at Pacific University.
