ELLENSBURG, Wash. - For the first time in program history, The College of Idaho lacrosse team has opened the season 3-0, as the Yotes rolled to a 17-11 victory at Central Washington.
The C of I led 9-8 at the half, but used a dominating third quarter performance to build the lead to 14-9 and cruised to the road win.
Austin Mendiola led the way, scoring a team-high six goals, while Patrick Erstad and Ian Williams each scored four for the Yotes, and Korey Gambill added a hat trick.
The Yotes will have the next two weekends off, preparing for their PNCLL South Division opener at home on March 30 against Whitman College.
