HIGH SCHOOL: 
Athletic accomplishments: Athlete of the Year, Male athlete of the year, Most Inspirational Male, Male Athlete of Character, Male Sportsmanship Award, Rotary Athlete of the Month, 2nd OSAA Mens 200 IM champion, Top 5 2a 3a 4a OSAA Finalist,  District Champion, High School Varsity Swimming Captain/ Soccer Captain, 1st Team all League for soccer, Mens Swimming record holder .
In the classroom: Rotary Academic Scholarship, Kiwanis Academic Scholarship, Marine Academic Scholarship, Music Scholar Scholarship, High School Diploma.
 
PERSONAL: 
Joining the Yote Fam from Lincoln City Oregon, Sam was raised by Maria Cortes Espinosa, Jorge Leo Lopez. Aside from his efforts in the pool, Sam is also working hard in the classroom in pursuit of a degree in Exercise Sciences. He chose The College of Idaho to continue his academic and athletic career and because of its generous help in academic support as well as its diverse student life. Another main reason was to pursue a degree in Exercise Science. He is thankful to still be apart of a Varsity Athletic program, as well as being on scholarship for both his athletic and academic abilities.
