ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT C OF I:
Tinney is in his second season with the Coyote men's basketball program. He achieved a Final Four finish (2024), won the CCC regular season championship (2024), and made an appearance in the National Tournament (2024).
2023-24: Played in 20 games, did not start any – averaged 3.2 minutes per game, shooting 66.7% from the field. Scored a total of 20 points, averaging 1.0 points per game. Recorded 17 rebounds, averaging 0.9 per game, and contributed 4 assists. Notably, he shot 50.0% from three-point range and 60.0% from the free-throw line. Had a season-high of 5 points in a game, showcasing his scoring ability.
2022-23: Redshirted in his first season with the Coyote men's basketball program.
Total: Across his appearances, he played in 20 games, did not start any – averaged 3.2 minutes per game, with a total of 20 points, averaging 1.0 points per game. He tallied 17 rebounds and 4 assists, proving to be a valuable contributor during his time on the court.
HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2022 graduate of McCall-Donnelly HIgh School, where he led the McCall-Donnelly Vandals to back-to-back runner-ups at the Idaho state tournament in 2021 and 2022. He also led the Vandals to a 20-3 record in the 2021-2022 season, as his team finished the regular season as the 3A Snake River Valley Conference champions. Tinney was named First Team All-Conference during his junior and senior seasons, as well as Second Team All-State during his senior campaign.
PERSONAL:
Joining the Yote Fam from McCall, ID, Ethan was raised by Jason and Jennifer Tinney. Aside from his efforts on the court, Ethan is also working hard in the classroom in pursuit of a degree in Exercise Science. He chose The College of Idaho because of the culture, winning basketball program, and it was close to home.
