ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT C OF I:
Rogers is in his fourth season with the Coyote men's basketball program. He achieved a Final Four finish (2024), was named Defensive Player of the Year (2023-24), and received the NABC honors award (2023-2024). He is a three-time CCC regular season champion (2022-2024) and has made three appearances in the National Tournament (2022-2024). Rogers won the National Championship in 2023 and is a two-time CCC Tournament champion (2022, 2023), as well as having reached the Elite Eight in 2022.
2023-24: Played in 33 games, did not start any – averaged 19.2 minutes per game, shooting 59.7% from the field. Scored a total of 234 points, averaging 7.1 points per game. Recorded 55 assists and 181 rebounds, averaging 5.5 per game. Highlighted by a season-high of 42 points in a game, demonstrating his scoring prowess.
2022-23: Played in all 36 games as a reserve, seeing action in an average of 19 minutes a game...made 67.5% of his shots from the field to go along with 7.1 rebounds a game...averaged 6.9 points a game...had eight games with double-digit rebounds with a season-high 13 against Oregon Tech (Dec. 3)...scored in double figures in five games with a season-high 13 at Bushnell (Jan. 13)...recorded double doubles in wins at Eastern Oregon (Dec. 9) and at Multnomah (Feb. 4)...handed out four assists at Corban (Jan. 14)...twice, he had three steals in a game...on seven occasions, he had a game where he did not miss a shot a from the field.
2021-22: A key reserve in 18 games, logging 4.6 minutes, 1.3 points and 1.8 rebounds a game…scored four points in three games…made 11 of 16 (68.8%) of his shots from the field…grabbed 33 rebounds – 16 of which were offensive…pulled down five boards in a season-high 12 minutes of action against Carroll (Nov. 13)…grabbed four offensive rebounds at Lewis-Clark State (Feb. 4)…had a steal in three-different game.
Total: Across his collegiate career, he played in 88 games, did not start any – averaged 16.1 minutes per game, with a total of 517 points, averaging 5.9 points per game. He tallied 474 rebounds and 109 assists, proving to be a valuable contributor on both ends of the court.
HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2020 graduate of Rocky Mountain High, where he earned 5A All-Southern Idaho Conference and 5A All-State honors as a senior; led his team to a state championship victory; averaged 11.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, making 59-percent of his field goal attempts.
PERSONAL:
Joining the Yote Fam from Eagle, ID, Straton was raised by Denzil and Traci Rogers. Aside from his efforts on the court, Straton is also working hard in the classroom in pursuit of a degree in Business Administration. He chose The College of Idaho because of the winning basketball program and highly acclaimed education.
