Biography
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT C OF I:
Robinett is in his fifth season with the Coyote men's basketball program. He has achieved a Final Four finish (2024), been a three-time CCC regular season champion (2022-2024), and made three appearances in the National Tournament (2022-2024). He won the National Championship in 2023 and was named to the All-Tournament team that same year. Additionally, he is a two-time CCC Tournament champion (2022, 2023) and reached the Elite Eight in 2022. Robinett has also surpassed 1,000 career points.
2023-24: Played in 35 games, starting in 34… averaged 21.8 minutes per game, making 46.5% of his shots from the field… scored a total of 317 points, averaging 9.1 points per game… recorded 56 assists, averaging 1.6 assists per game… contributed 167 rebounds, with 46 offensive and 121 defensive… registered 23 steals and 33 blocks… had a free-throw percentage of 66.7% (32 of 48)… made 59 three-pointers during the season.
2022-23: Played in all 37 games with 36 starts, logging 21.8 minutes, 10.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game; made 48.8% of his shots from the field; one of five Yotes to average in double figures and one of six to score over 300 points; led team with 40 blocked shots; scored in double figures in 20 games; had 22 points in the win at Warner Pacific (Feb. 3), where he made a career-best four 3-pointers; grabbed double-digit rebounds in three games; had a double double against 14 points and 11 rebounds at Northwest (Feb. 17); twice handed out three assists in a game; also in two games, he had three blocked shots in a game.
2021-22: Started the final 31 games, seeing in action in all 35 games…averaged 8.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.6 blocks per game…made 46.4% of his shots from the field…scored in double figures in nine games, including a stretch of five straight midway through the season…poured in 16 points against Walla Walla (Dec. 17)…had five points and a season-high 10 rebounds against Lewis-Clark State (Dec. 18)…grabbed six offensive boards against Bushnell (Dec. 31)…pulled down five offensive rebounds in back-to-back games against Northwest (Feb. 11) and Evergreen (Feb. 12)…dished out three assists in the NAIA Opening Round game against Vanguard (Mar. 11)…blocked two shots in three games, including a pair of rejections against OUAZ (Mar. 12)…fourth on the team in rebounds (161).
2020-21: Played in 14 games during the COVID shortened season, averaging 2.8 points per game; scored a season-high 11 points in consecutive games vs. Eastern Washington and Portland, adding eight points vs. Utah State.
Total: Across his collegiate career, he played in 122 games, starting 102 – averaged 19.8 minutes per game, with 1,031 total points, averaging 8.5 points per game. He tallied 480 rebounds and 144 assists, solidifying his impact on both ends of the court.
HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2020 graduate of Middleton High, where he was named Southern Idaho Conference Player of the Year and 4A All-State, helping his team to the 4A state semifinals; averaged 17 points and eight rebounds per game as a senior, marking more than 1,000 points in his career; was a 3-time All-SIC selection.
PERSONAL:
Joining the Yote Fam from Middleton, ID, Tyler was raised by Scott and Kami Robinett. Aside from his efforts on the court, Tyler is also working hard in the classroom in pursuit of a degree in Business Administration. He chose The College of Idaho because “I wanted to attend a college that valued success, as well as a strong academic life. I also wanted my family to be able to come watch us win”.
