AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: O'Brien is in his second season with the Coyote baseball program.

2016: Made 16 appearances as a junior, including 15 starts; posted a 6-3 record with a 3.23 ERA in 69.2 innings of work, walking 40 men and striking out 60; won his first five decisions, including a three-hit, 10-strikeout performance in a 15-2 win over Oregon Tech on March 13; struck out nine men in five strong innings in a no-decision against eventual NAIA champ, Lewis-Clark State on March 5; allowed just one hit and fanned seven in a win at British Columbia on April 24.

PREVIOUS SCHOOL: Spent two seasons at Everett CC, where he worked out of the bullpen for the Trojans; played summer ball for the Everett Merchants in the Pacific International League.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2013 graduate of Shorewood High, where he earned All-Western Conference honors after going 6-2 with a 2.10 ERA.

PERSONAL: Studying business; son of Frank O'Brien and Kerri Hong.
