Penalty Kick Sends Yotes to Narrow Defeat at RV Stanton

IRVINE, Calif. – A second-half penalty kick proved to be the difference on Wednesday as The College of Idaho men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to receiving votes Stanton (CA) at Great Park.

The Yotes battled the Elks through a scoreless first half despite being outshot 6-2 over the opening 45 minutes. Goalkeeper Fynn Gehring kept The College of Idaho even with a pair of saves before halftime.

Stanton broke through less than two minutes into the second half when Rémi De Carmejane converted a penalty kick in the 47th minute, providing the match's lone goal.

The Yotes generated several opportunities to find the equalizer. Evan Dickinson forced a save from Stanton goalkeeper Giovanny Jacon in the 62nd minute, while Jake Anderson tested the keeper again in the 84th minute.
