Yotes Face The Master's University

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The College of Idaho men's soccer team dropped a 7-1 decision to The Master's University on Tuesday evening at Reese Field.
 
The Yotes (0-1-1) generated eight shots in the contest, with defender Chris Slater accounting for five of them and scoring The College of Idaho's lone goal.
 
The Master's struck early, as Trent Rickard found the back of the net in the seventh minute before adding a second goal in the 15th minute to give the Mustangs a 2-0 halftime advantage.
 
The home side continued its offensive surge after the break, getting goals from Rickard in the 48th and 55th minutes and a strike from Zach Bates in between to build a 5-0 lead.
 
The Yotes broke through in the 80th minute when Miguel Bastos delivered a pass to Slater, who finished for his first goal of the season to make the score 5-1.
 
The Mustangs added late goals from Hunter Phelps and Jaime Dominguez to secure the final margin.
 
Fynn Gehring made six saves for The College of Idaho, facing 20 shots and 13 shots on goal. Slater led the Yotes offensively with four shots on goal, while Evan Dickinson recorded the team's other shot on target.
 
The College of Idaho continues its California road trip on Wednesday, Sept. 2, when the Yotes face Stanton University (Calif.) at 8 p.m. Mountain Time.
