CALDWELL, Idaho - The No. 10 College of Idaho beach volleyball team opened its senior day with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Bushnell before dropping a 5-0 decision to No. 2 Corban on Saturday at the College of Idaho Beach Volleyball Courts.
Prior to the afternoon match, the Yotes honored seniors Emily Lettenmaier, Ellie Baker and Faith Faucher for their contributions to the program.
In the morning dual, the Yotes (5-6, 5-6 CCC) secured their fifth conference victory with a balanced effort against Bushnell. The pairing of Greta Valaika and Liza Montalbo clinched the team win at the No. 1 spot, grinding out a three-set victory, 21-19, 17-21, 15-10.
Carolina Moreno Rubio and Faucher provided a straight-set win at No. 2, 21-18, 21-18, while Kelsy Stanger and Reese Hickingbottom rallied after dropping the first set to earn a 16-21, 21-17, 15-7 victory at No. 5 to give the Yotes their third point.
Bushnell picked up points at Nos. 3 and 4, both in three-set battles, but the Yotes' depth proved enough to secure the dual.
In the afternoon senior day contest, the Yotes ran into a strong Corban squad that entered the match unbeaten in conference play. The Warriors (17-3, 10-0 CCC) swept all five scoring courts to complete the dual.
Corban took control early with wins at Nos. 4 and 2 to build momentum, and added straight-set victories at Nos. 3 and 1 to clinch the match. The closest contest came at the No. 5 position, where Stanger and Hickingbottom pushed their opponents to three sets before falling 16-21, 21-19, 15-13.
The split moves the Yotes to 5-6 overall and in Cascade Conference play as they continue their 2026 campaign.
