CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho opened its home weekend Friday with a 4-1 loss to No. 2 Corban University at the C of I Beach Volleyball Courts.
The No. 10 Yotes (4-5, 4-5 CCC) showed fight throughout the lineup, highlighted by a strong performance at the No. 4 position. Kadance Jacobson and Emily Lettenmaier delivered the team's point with a straight-sets victory, 21-16, 21-19, controlling the match from start to finish.
C of I battled in several other flights, including a tight contest at No. 3 where Sophia White and Ellie Baker pushed a close second set before falling 21-16, 21-19. The No. 1 pair of Greta Valaika and Liza Montalbo also kept both sets competitive against a nationally-ranked pairing.
The Yotes continued to show depth across the lineup, staying within striking distance in multiple matches while facing one of the top teams in the NAIA.
College of Idaho returns to the sand Saturday for a pair of matches, beginning with a 10 a.m. matchup against Bushnell before closing the weekend with a 2 p.m. rematch against Corban. The afternoon contest will serve as Senior Day, with the program honoring its seniors prior to first serve. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Yotes throughout the day and help celebrate the senior class in their final home appearance.
