CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho women's basketball team surged to its 18th win of the season Saturday afternoon, overwhelming Evergreen State 81–42 inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center. The victory pushes the Yotes to 12–4 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
The College of Idaho controlled the game from start to finish, outscoring Evergreen in every quarter and building a 25–11 lead after the opening period. The Yotes dominated the glass with a 59–33 rebounding advantage and capitalized on 20 Geoduck turnovers for 29 points. The bench contributed 34 points in the blowout win.
Maiya Hardy delivered one of her strongest outings of the season, finishing with 12 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Riley Beck provided a major spark off the bench with 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Kylie Waltermeyer added 11 points and seven rebounds, knocking down three three-pointers along the way.
Anna Mooney added eight points and four assists, while Lainee Houillon and Mia Austin chipped in eight and five points, respectively, as part of a deep and efficient rotation.
The Yotes were perfect at the free-throw line, finishing 14-for-14 as a team which was a key factor in maintaining momentum throughout the afternoon.
Defensively, The College of Idaho limited Evergreen to 28.3 percent shooting from the floor and just 10 points in the paint, while holding the Geoducks scoreless from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter.
The Yotes now turn their attention to the road, traveling to Corban University (Ore.) on February 13 for a 6:30 p.m. MT tipoff.
