CALDWELL, Idaho- The College of Idaho celebrated three decades of women's basketball in fitting fashion Friday night, powering past Northwest University 76–53 inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Yotes controlled the game from the opening tip, building a 16–7 lead after the first quarter and never looking back. The College of Idaho led wire-to-wire and held its largest advantage at 32 points midway through the fourth.
Anna Mooney led a balanced Yotes attack with 15 points, going 6 of 7 from the free-throw line and adding four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Kylie Waltermeyer and Riley Beck each contributed nine points, while Maiya Hardy anchored the frontcourt with eight points and a team-high nine rebounds. Annie Stinar stuffed the stat sheet with seven points, five assists and three steals, giving the Yotes a spark off the bench. Mia Austin added six points, including two from beyond the arc.
The College of Idaho finished 42 percent from the field and an impressive 92.9 percent at the free-throw line. The Yotes dominated the paint with a 42–20 scoring edge and turned Northwest's 18 turnovers into 25 points. The bench also delivered 33 points in a strong all-around performance.
Northwest was led by Taimane Faleafine-Auwae's 14 points and Ellie Bost's 12 points, including four made three-pointers.
The win improves The College of Idaho to 17–6 overall and 11–4 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
The Yotes continue their homestand tomorrow night against The Evergreen State with a 3pm MT tipoff.
