EUGENE, Ore. - The College of Idaho defeated Bushnell 84-59 on Saturday evening at the Morse Center, earning a weekend split and keeping pace in the Cascade Conference regular-season championship race.
The Yotes (18-8, 13-5 CCC) shot 56.9% from the field and knocked down 13-of-25 from 3-point range, using a dominant first half to seize control. College of Idaho built a 47-31 lead at halftime and stretched the margin to as many as 29 in the second half.
The weekend also marked a milestone for senior guard Dougie Peoples, who surpassed 1,000 career points to become the latest Yote to reach the scoring benchmark. Peoples added four points, three assists and two steals Saturday, contributing across the stat sheet in the bounce-back effort.
Alex Germer led the way with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. Conner Sheets provided a spark off the bench with 15 points, connecting on five 3-pointers, while Tucker Tiddens added 11 points and seven rebounds. The Yotes' bench totaled 38 points in the victory.
College of Idaho set the tone early behind efficient offense and active defense, shooting 61.3% in the opening 20 minutes and closing the half on a 6-0 run, capped by a Germer 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Bushnell (12-13, 9-9 CCC) shot 31.9% from the field and 7-of-30 from long distance. Cory Johnson paced the Beacons with 25 points, but the Yotes controlled the paint (40-22) and finished with 18 assists on 33 made field goals.
With the regular season entering its final stretch, College of Idaho remains squarely in the conference title hunt as the Cascade Conference race tightens.
