CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho opened senior weekend by flipping the script on one of its toughest losses of the season, rolling past Oregon Tech 87-64 Friday night after falling to the Owls by 30 points in the teams' first meeting earlier this year.
The Yotes (19-8, 14-5 CCC) never trailed after the opening minutes and shot 59.6% from the field, including 11-of-19 from beyond the arc, to secure the 23-point home victory over Oregon Tech (19-8, 14-4 CCC).
Sophomore Utrillo Morris led the charge with a dominant performance inside, pouring in a career-high 31 points on an efficient 15-of-19 shooting night. Morris consistently attacked the paint, surpassing his previous career best of 25 points set last weekend, and helped College of Idaho build a 44-30 halftime lead before stretching the advantage to as many as 23 in the second half.
Dougie Peoples added 19 points behind a 5-of-6 effort from 3-point range, while Rey Johnston chipped in 18 points, seven rebounds and three blocks as the Yotes assisted on 14 of their 34 made field goals and committed just five turnovers as a team.
Oregon Tech was paced by Jackson Cooper's 24 points and Dakota Reber's 21, but the Owls were limited to just 2-of-9 shooting from long distance and received only two points from their bench.
College of Idaho outrebounded Oregon Tech 32-26 and held advantages in assists (14-5) and bench scoring (12-2) in the win.
The Yotes close out the regular season Saturday night as senior weekend continues inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
