Box Score ASHLAND, Ore. — Despite a strong offensive showing, The College of Idaho men's basketball team came up short on the road Friday night, falling 95-81 to Southern Oregon inside Lithia Motors Pavilion.
The Yotes traded punches early but trailed 50-40 at halftime and couldn't overcome the Raiders' dominance on the glass. Southern Oregon outrebounded The College of Idaho 41-18 and converted those extra opportunities into 21 second-chance points compared to just seven for the Yotes.
Dougie Peoples led all scorers with 29 points on 9-of-13 shooting and an 9-for-11 mark at the free-throw line.
Utrillo Morris added 20 points and a team-high seven assists, while
Conner Sheets provided a spark off the bench with 12 points, including three triples.
Tucker Tiddens chipped in 11 points, and
Rey Johnston contributed six points and four assists.
The Yotes shot an efficient 49.1 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from beyond the arc, while Southern Oregon countered with 53.6 percent overall and 46.7 percent from deep. The Raiders also held a 21-17 edge in assists and limited The College of Idaho to just three fast-break points.
Southern Oregon was paced by Elijah Jackson's 28 points and Joe Juhala's 27-point, 12-rebound double-double.
The College of Idaho (10-5, 5-2 CCC) will look to bounce back tomorrow in Klammath Falls, facing No. 20 Oregon Tech at 6 p.m. MT in a key Cascade Conference matchup.
