PORTLAND, Ore. – The College of Idaho women's basketball team delivered one of its most complete performances of the season Saturday afternoon, rolling past Warner Pacific 75–38 behind a balanced scoring effort, stifling defense and a commanding advantage on the glass.
The Yotes shot 49.2 percent from the floor and 42.3 percent from three while holding Warner Pacific to just 30.2 percent overall and 2-of-23 from long range. The College of Idaho forced 13 turnovers and converted them into 16 points while never trailing in the contest. The team also owned a 44–32 rebounding edge and outscored the Knights 34–26 in the paint.
Mia Austin led all scorers with 14 points off the bench, knocking down four three-pointers.
Annie Stinar added nine points and seven rebounds in an all-around strong effort.
Taryn Riley scored 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting, and
Brooke Beresford chipped in eight points and six rebounds as the Yotes controlled the interior throughout the afternoon.
Lainee Houillon put together one of the most complete stat lines of the day with five points, five assists, six rebounds and a steal. The Yotes' reserves were crucial, contributing 45 points in the win.
The College of Idaho surged to a 26–5 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back. The Yotes closed the game by shooting 63.6 percent in the fourth quarter to secure the decisive victory.
With the win, the Yotes improve to 16–6 overall and 10–4 in CCC play.
The College of Idaho returns home on February 6 to host Northwest University. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. MT inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
