ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – The College of Idaho wrapped up a historic weekend at the GSAC Swimming Championship at the Soka Aquatic Center, as both the men's and women's teams earned third place finishes. It marks the highest placement for either program since joining the conference, with the Yotes posting major point increases on both sides following a strong
day one showing.
The men's team climbed to third after taking fourth last season with 78 points. This year the Yotes scored 122 points to achieve their best championship result to date. The women's team delivered an equally significant jump, improving from last year's fourth place 78 point total to score 193 points and secure third place.
The final day of competition brought several standout performances for The College of Idaho.
Lily Schroer delivered one of the largest time drops of the weekend by cutting 35.33 seconds off her mile freestyle, finishing in 20:53.38. Teammate
Reese Kerr-Tayrien also lowered her personal best in dramatic fashion, trimming 43.27 seconds to post a time of 20:38.39.
On the men's side,
Jace Zemlicka highlighted the Yotes' day with a dominant swim in the mile. Zemlicka captured the event title with a winning time of 16:58.23. In the 200 yard breaststroke,
Cahill Robinson added another podium finish for the Yotes by taking third place in 2:10.23.
