BOISE, Idaho – The College of Idaho swim and dive team turned in an impressive performance at the Vandal Invite, hosted by the University of Idaho at the Idaho Central Aquatic Center. Competing against a strong field that included California State University Bakersfield, Pepperdine University, Seattle University, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, University of Alaska Fairbanks, and Whitman College, the Yotes delivered multiple national qualifying swims and a slew of personal bests.
Three Yotes hit NAIA National "B" standards during the three-day meet. Alec Rodriguez-Stiff posted a time of 57.78 in the 100-yard breaststroke, well under the qualifying mark of 59.08. Cahill Robinson also cleared the standard in the 100 breaststroke with a 58.69. Jace Zemlicka earned his cut in the 1,650-yard freestyle, clocking 17:05.10 to beat the 17:10.03 threshold.
In total, The College of Idaho swimmers combined for 10 personal records and 14 season-best times, showcasing depth and improvement across the roster.
"This was a great opportunity to compete against high-level programs and see where we stack up," said head coach Maddie Rice. "The team stepped up and delivered some outstanding swims."
The Yotes will return to action at the Logger Invite hsoted by Pueget Sound University in Tacoma, Washington on December 5th through 7th.
