LA GRANDE, Ore. - The College of Idaho women's basketball team extended its strong play on the road Tuesday night with a 62–45 win over Eastern Oregon. The victory marks the Yotes' third straight in La Grande and gives the Mountaineers their first home loss of the season.
After trailing 14–8 through the opening quarter, The College of Idaho responded with a dominant second period, outscoring Eastern Oregon 20–8 to take control heading into halftime. The Yotes continued to dictate the pace in the third, adding another 20 points and stretching the lead into double digits.
Riley Beck delivered a standout performance, finishing with 17 points on 6 of 9 shooting while adding nine rebounds and three assists.
Maiya Hardy and
Kylie Waltermeyer each scored eight points.
Brooke Beresford chipped in six points and seven rebounds, and
Anna Mooney contributed six points, eight rebounds and five assists in an all-around effort.
The Yotes' defensive pressure proved decisive, holding EOU to 32 percent shooting and just nine points in the fourth quarter. The College of Idaho also controlled the glass with a 43–30 rebounding advantage and earned a 26–16 edge in bench scoring.
A late three from Beck helped seal the win as the Yotes closed out another strong performance in La Grande.
The College of Idaho continues its road trip with a game at Warner Pacific, with tipoff set for 4 p.m. MT on January 31.
