COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. - A dominant offensive performance and a deep scoring effort carried The College of Idaho to a 102-64 victory over Walla Walla on Saturday night. The win moves the Yotes to 14-6 overall and 9-3 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
The Yotes shot 55.6 percent from the field and hit 14 three-pointers while putting 14 players in the scoring column.
Rey Johnston led all scorers with 25 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including seven threes.
Dougie Peoples added 22 points and connected on four shots from beyond the arc.
Utrillo Morris directed the offense with 10 assists while also scoring nine points.
Chance Winter contributed nine points and four rebounds off the bench, while
Tucker Tiddens added eight points and six boards.
David Kludt filled the stat sheet with five assists and three points.
Defensively, The College of Idaho forced 20 turnovers and turned them into 28 points. The Yotes dominated the paint with a 50-10 advantage in interior scoring and added 12 fast break points. The team posted a 60-point first half, building a 27-point halftime lead that only grew as the night progressed.
Conner Sheets scored eight points,
Isaac Mercer added six, and
CJ Mann and
Reece Sasser-Gunson each chipped in four.
The College of Idaho returns to action on January 27, traveling to La Grande, Oregon, to face rival Eastern Oregon University. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. MT.
