LEWISTON, Idaho – Dougie Peoples knocked down a go-ahead 3-pointer off an inbounds play with 1.8 seconds remaining as the College of Idaho men's basketball team avenged an early-season loss to Lewis-Clark State with a thrilling 68-66 road victory Thursday night at the P1FCU Activity Center.
The Yotes (13-6, 8-3 Cascade Collegiate Conference) delivered in the closing moments after Peoples finished with 14 points, including the game-winner that capped a strong second half. College of Idaho shot 53.6 percent from the field after halftime and went 7-for-11 from beyond the arc in the final 20 minutes.
Utrillo Morris led the Yotes with 14 points on 7-of-14 shooting and added seven assists, while Rey Johnston chipped in 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Tucker Tiddens provided a spark off the bench with 11 points, and Alex Germer was perfect at the free-throw line, going 4-for-4.
Lewis-Clark State (14-5, 8-3 CCC) was paced by John Lustig with 15 points, while Grayson Hunt added 10 points and six rebounds. The Warriors pulled within two late, but College of Idaho's defense held firm in the final possession to secure the win.
College of Idaho finished the night shooting 50 percent from 3-point range (10-of-20) and a perfect 6-for-6 at the stripe, out-rebounding LC State 34-33 to seal the dramatic road victory.
