CALDWELL, Idaho -The College of Idaho used a 21-13 third-quarter surge to pull away and defeat Bushnell 69-53 Friday night at J.A. Albertson Activities Center. The Yotes moved to 13-4 overall and 6-2 in the CCC, while the Beacons fell to 5-12 and 3-6.
Mia Austin led The College of Idaho with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, and added seven rebounds and three steals.
Kylie Waltermeyer posted nine points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
Maiya Hardy scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
Riley Beck added five points and nine boards, while
Anna Mooney handed out five assists.
The Yotes outshot Bushnell 41.7 percent to 31.7 and won the glass 43-35. The College of Idaho finished with a 16-6 edge in points off turnovers and a 24-18 advantage in the paint. The Yotes led by as many as 24 with 3:45 remaining.
Bushnell was paced by Ayden Krupke with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Ciena Tumoine added eight points and six rebounds with three steals, while Kenzie Pedersen had seven points and Kyra Quinn hit a pair of 3-pointers for six points.
The Yotes continue tomorrow against Corban University. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. at Elgin Baylor Arena.
