Drew Wyman Named Cascade Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Second Straight Year

CALDWELL, Idaho - For the second year in a row, College of Idaho's Drew Wyman has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Scholar-Athlete of the Year, recognizing his continued excellence across academics, athletics, and service during the 2024-25 academic year.

A native of Great Falls, Montana, Wyman maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in Biomedical Science, one of the most challenging programs at the College of Idaho. He is also a Gipson Honors Program Scholar, an honor reserved for students demonstrating exceptional intellectual ability and academic commitment.

On the basketball court, Wyman concluded one of the most successful careers in program history. A three-time NAIA All-American, he helped lead the Yotes to two NAIA national championships in three years. He holds the school record for career starts with 143, starting all but two of his 145 games. He totaled 1,708 career points and averaged 11.8 points per game, shooting 53.4 percent from the field as a senior and playing a crucial role in the Yotes' 2025 national title run.

Wyman was named to the Academic All-America team three times and recently received the 2024-25 NAIA Men's Basketball Academic All-America Team Member of the Year honor from College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizing him as the top academic men's basketball player in the NAIA.

Off the court, Wyman served as Treasurer of the Association of Student-Athletes and Chief of Staff in student government. He has been a leader in community outreach, particularly in youth mentorship and mental health advocacy. Through the Legacy Program, Wyman and his teammates spoke annually to over 7,000 elementary students, encouraging community service and recognizing those efforts at Yotes basketball games.

His involvement with the Jae Foundation, a nonprofit focused on mental health and suicide prevention, included speaking engagements, event support, and leading team discussions around emotional wellness. The foundation's logo appeared on Yote jerseys during the 2024-25 season in a partnership centered on awareness and impact.

Wyman also played a key role in the team's service with Special Olympics Idaho. He and his teammates mentored youth athletes with disabilities over six months, hosting weekly practices, organizing social events, and culminating with a Unified Game at the JAAC. He also volunteered at Special Olympics and youth clinics during the NAIA National Championship in Kansas City.

His commitment to service began as a freshman when he donated his $1,000 Gatorade Player of the Year award to the Hope House, a home for emotionally and developmentally challenged youth. He continues to support the organization by helping run an annual free basketball clinic for its residents.

Wyman was also selected to the inaugural NACDA Good Works Team (Winter), highlighting his leadership across all aspects of student life.

With this repeat recognition as CCC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Wyman becomes one of the few student-athletes in conference history to earn the honor in back-to-back years, a testament to his sustained excellence and impact on and off the court.
