CALDWELL, Idaho — The College of Idaho men's basketball program has added an impressive recruiting class ahead of the 2025 season to following their national championship campaign, featuring a diverse group of high-achieving student-athletes from across the West. This incoming class brings championship experience, academic excellence, and a deep commitment to the values that define Yote culture. "We are thrilled to be adding a large freshman class to our roster next season" says Head Coach Colby Blaine. "With graduating seven seniors, it has opened many roster opportunities and I believe our staff did a tremendous job of finding student athletes that will continue to raise the bar for Yotes basketball. This class includes state champions, state player's of the year and a Gatorade player of the year. We have added talent that will keep us competing on the national level. I am also thrilled to be adding individuals that have thrived in the classroom and their communities. We truly believe our basketball success is a product of our players being well rounded individuals. This incoming freshman class exemplifies this as well as any incoming class we have signed. We are eager to get started and cant wait to see what they can accomplish over the next four years."
Let's meet the incoming class.
Reece Sasser-Gunson
A versatile 6-foot-6 forward from Meridian, Idaho, Reece Sasser-Gunson joins the Yotes following a decorated prep career at Owyhee High School. A former 6th Man of the 5A Idaho State Tournament and an SIC All-Star, Sasser-Gunson also earned honorable mention All-SIC recognition and was honored with the 2023 Idaho Youth Sports Student Game Changer Award. He made his mark statistically with 6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, while leading his team in plus-minus during the 2022–23 season.
Reece's academic achievements match his basketball pedigree. He graduated with high honors, finished seventh in his class, and earned membership in the National Honor Society. He was also accepted into The College of Idaho's Honors College. After a two-year church mission in Guatemala, he returns fluent in Spanish and ready to make an immediate impact both on and off the court.
Rey Johnston
A proven winner out of Missoula, Montana, 6-foot-6 forward Rey Johnston brings championship pedigree to Caldwell. A three-time state champion, four-time all-conference selection, and two-time Gatorade Player of the Year, Johnston averaged an impressive 22 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks per game during his senior season.
In the classroom, Johnston consistently excelled, earning academic all-state recognition all four years and National Honor Society membership. Drawn to The College of Idaho for its combination of strong academics, tight-knit community, and elite basketball tradition, Johnston adds leadership and intensity to the Yotes' frontcourt.
Dyson Judd
A 6-foot-4 guard from Meridian, Idaho, Dyson Judd joins The College of Idaho after a standout career and a two-year church mission in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the high school level, Judd earned first-team All-SIC honors, a spot on the state all-star team, and a state tournament nod while averaging 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game.
Judd graduated high school with over 40 college credits and was a consistent honor roll student with strong academic credentials. Bilingual in Spanish and born in Los Angeles, he now returns with a focus on pursuing a career in sports medicine. The College of Idaho's respected exercise science and pre-med programs played a key role in his decision to become a Yote, along with his admiration for the program's winning culture and relentless work ethic.
Tucker Tiddens
A towering 6-foot-7 forward from Nampa, Idaho, Tucker Tiddens brings size and scoring touch to the Yotes. He capped off a stellar high school career by earning Second-Team All-6A SIC honors in 2025 after being named 4A SIC Player of the Year the season prior. Tiddens averaged 17 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, shooting 52 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from beyond the arc.
Academically, Tiddens ranked 15th in a class of 350 and graduated with both a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a weighted GPA above 4.0. With a commitment to continuous growth, he was drawn to The College of Idaho by its strong basketball culture and team-first mentality, along with the opportunity to grow as both an athlete and a student.

David Kludt
From Kamiah, Idaho, 6-foot-6 David Kludt joins the Yotes as one of the most decorated players in the state. He earned 2A Idaho Player of the Year honors and was named Whitepine League Player of the Year while averaging 22.4 points, 15.8 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game. His performance across sports also earned him the 1A–4A Male Athlete of the Year award.
With a well-rounded game and a reputation as a playmaker, Kludt saw The College of Idaho as the perfect fit. He praised its campus environment, coaching staff, and strong team culture. His combination of basketball IQ and leadership will be a welcome addition in Caldwell.
Jackson Rogers
A winner through and through, Middleton's Jackson Rogers enters the program with a legacy of championships, having earned three state titles and four district crowns during his high school career. At 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds, Rogers brings toughness and consistency, averaging 6 points and 5 rebounds per game.
Rogers was a four-year academic all-conference selection and maintained honors-level academics throughout high school. He chose The College of Idaho for its emphasis on developing character and community engagement alongside basketball success, qualities that mirror his own approach to the game.
Conner Sheets
Rounding out the class is Conner Sheets, a dynamic guard whose high school journey spanned two elite programs: Spanish Springs High School in Nevada and Buchanan High School in Clovis, California. Sheets has stacked up accolades at every level, including Freshman All-North and Sophomore Co-Player of the Year in Northern Nevada. Most recently, he earned TRAC Conference Player of the Year as a senior. He also earned MVP honors across multiple tournaments and was named The Fresno Bee Player of the Year and Buchanan High's Male Athlete of the Year.
Off the court, Sheets was recognized twice with the prestigious Bear Award for embodying scholarship, leadership, integrity, and athletic excellence. His championship mindset and elite scoring ability make him a natural fit for The College of Idaho's culture of excellence.
