CALDWELL, Idaho - Four College of Idaho softball standouts were honored with All-Cascade Collegiate Conference selections, the league office announced this week. Outfielder Kamryn Ham and infielder Ashlynn Nixon earned First Team recognition, while pitcher Abbey Brooks and outfielder Madelyn Powell were named to the Second Team. Ham and fellow outfielder Chloe Flerchinger also earned Gold Glove awards for their defensive excellence.
Ham turned in a dominant all-around season, leading the Yotes with a .370 batting average while reaching base at a .476 clip. The sophomore added 19 RBI, seven doubles, and three triples, and was a perfect 22-for-22 in stolen base attempts. Defensively, she was flawless in the outfield, recording a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on 45 chances, earning her both First Team and Gold Glove honors.
Nixon delivered consistent production on both sides of the ball, batting .369 with 13 doubles, two home runs, and 28 RBI. She paced the team in slugging percentage (.573) and matched Ham's on-base percentage at .480. Defensively, the senior was a key figure in the infield, helping turn a team-high eight double plays while posting a .947 fielding percentage.
In the circle, Brooks anchored the pitching staff, posting a 12-6 record with a 2.69 ERA across a team-high 109.1 innings. She struck out 84 batters and limited opponents to a .210 batting average.
Powell added power and production to the lineup, batting .340 with six doubles, five home runs, and 33 RBI. The junior outfielder also swiped seven bases and registered a .403 on-base percentage.
Flerchinger earned her Gold Glove distinction after committing just two errors in 108 chances, recording a .981 fielding percentage in the outfield.
The Yotes concluded the regular season with a 26-16 overall record, including 14-13 in Cascade Conference play.
