NAMPA, Idaho — The College of Idaho track and field teams delivered another record-breaking performance Saturday at the NNU Open, hosted by Northwest Nazarene University, posting 18 new Cascade Conference qualifying marks, four school records, and a staggering 73 personal bests.
The Yotes women's squad, which topped the team standings with 140 points, was led by Charlotte Bowman, who rewrote the program history books. Bowman sprinted to a pair of school records, clocking 11.76 in the 100 meters and 24.52 in the 200, both NAIA National "B" qualifying marks. Her 100-meter time ranks No. 6 nationally, and the 200-meter mark sits at No. 9.
Star Herron also highlighted the women's field events, launching a 54.04-meter throw in the hammer for an NAIA "A" standard and a meet win, while improving her all-time mark in the discus with a 41.40-meter effort for second place.
Kylee Quinton added a National "B" qualifier of her own, racing 2:14.02 in the 800 meters, the fourth-fastest time in school history and currently No. 11 in the nation.
On the men's side, the Yotes overwhelmed the field with 177 points behind a pair of record-setting sprints by Chris Shakespeare. The freshman clocked 10.66 in the 100 meters and 21.56 in the 200, both new school records and marks that place him inside the national Top 30.
Dylan Wolfe pushed the sprint depth even further, clocking 10.70 in the 100 meters, the second-fastest mark in program history, and 21.73 in the 200. The Yotes' 4x400 relay team of Wolfe, Trevor Treat, Zach Curtsinger and Jonah Sowell also soared to No. 3 in program history, winning the event in 3:20.74.
The men's field events were highlighted by Keenan Blair, who threw a personal-best 45.89 meters in the discus, improving his own No. 7 mark on the school's all-time list, and Logan Prince, whose 1.95-meter clearance in the high jump tied for third all-time.
In total, the Yotes combined for 24 new Top-10 program marks, one NAIA "A" qualifying performance, and three NAIA "B" standards, continuing what has been one of the most decorated seasons in school history.
