College of Idaho Earns Multiple NAIA Honors, Including Coach of the Year

CALDWELL, Idaho — The College of Idaho men's basketball team was well represented in the NAIA All-America teams released Monday, with Samaje Morgan earning first-team All-American honors, Drew Wyman securing his third All-America selection, and Colby Blaine being named NAIA Coach of the Year. Morgan and Wyman were also named to the NAIA All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Yotes to a national title.

Junior Samaje Morgan was recognized as a first-team All-American for the second straight year after leading the Yotes to a national championship. Morgan, who holds a 104-6 career record, was named Chuck Taylor MVP after averaging 17 points, 5 assists and 1.8 steals per game in the NAIA Tournament, including a 28-point performance in the title game.

Teammate Drew Wyman earned his third career All-America honor and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Wyman holds the program record for career starts (143 of 145 games) and started every game in both of the Yotes' national championship seasons. This year, he averaged 12.2 points per game and tallied 214 rebounds, 20 blocks and 23 steals, shooting 53% from the field.

Head coach Colby Blaine was named NAIA Coach of the Year after leading College of Idaho to its second national championship in three seasons. The Yotes finished 35-2 overall, including 21-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Blaine, now 205-30 in seven seasons, holds a perfect 2-0 record in national championship games and has solidified College of Idaho as an NAIA powerhouse.
