CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho men's basketball team is inviting all Yote fans to join in the celebration of their 2025 NAIA National Championship with a special community event on Tuesday, April 1, at 7 p.m. inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Yotes, who claimed their third NAIA national title in program history, will commemorate their remarkable season with a banner-raising ceremony. Fans will have the opportunity to relive the 25-game winning streak, hear from players and coaches, and celebrate alongside the team that brought another championship home to Caldwell.
Throughout the NAIA tournament, the Yotes dominated their competition, outscoring opponents 477-357 across six games. In the National Championship Game against Oklahoma Wesleyan, the Yotes shot a blistering 80-percent from three-point range in the first half and held their opponent to just 37.1-percent shooting. Samaje Morgan led all scorers with 28 points, while Dougie Peoples hit five-for-five threes in the first half, finishing with 21 points.
The championship marks the second title in three seasons for head coach Colby Blaine, assistant coaches Emanuel Morgan, Jacob McLeod, and Chris Coutts, as well as 11 out of 16 athletes on this season's roster as they were also part of the 2023 national championship team. Only 5 Yotes from the 20-deep official travel party earned their first championship ring this season.
The Yotes graduate eight seniors, including Caden Handran, Paul Wilson, Tyler Robinett, Straton Rogers, Johnny Radford, Drew Wyman, Bryan St. Clair, and Alex Germer, all of whom played a pivotal role in securing this championship and leaving a lasting legacy in the program.
Tuesday's event is free and open to the public, as the College of Idaho community comes together to honor this historic achievement. Fans are encouraged to wear purple, bring their Yote spirit, and be part of this exciting night.
