CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho baseball team avoided a series sweep with a dramatic walk-off victory in game four of their Cascade Collegiate Conference series against Bushnell University. The Yotes secured a 5-4 win in the final game after dropping the first three matchups.
Game 3: Bushnell 15, College of Idaho 6
Bushnell's offense was relentless in the third game of the series, collecting 17 hits en route to a commanding 15-6 victory. Despite the loss, Ben Gaff provided a spark for the Yotes, scoring three runs, while Chandler Stocking and Austin Moon each drove in a run.
Bushnell's Cade Crist led the offensive charge with two home runs and six RBIs, while Jordan Wilson added a solo homer. The Beacons broke the game open with a three-run shot in the sixth inning and added insurance runs late to secure the win.
Game 4: College of Idaho 5, Bushnell 4
The Yotes found themselves in a late-game battle, but clutch hitting sealed the win. Tied 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Jack Ingraham delivered the game-winning RBI single, driving in Chandler Stocking to secure the victory.
Chandler Stocking had a strong performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Pete Bacon and Jace Mahlke also contributed run-scoring hits. Dawson Cummins was solid on the mound, striking out eight over six innings. He hit the career milestone of 100 strikeouts in his tenure as a Yote. Reliever Kaden Lapp earned the win with a scoreless ninth inning.
The Yotes hit the road next weekend to take on Oregon Tech for a four game series. The first game starts on March 22nd at 1pm MT.
