CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho women's basketball team bounced back from a Friday night loss with a dominant 71-50 victory over Walla Walla on Saturday night at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Yotes (12-11, 10-8 CCC) used a balanced offensive attack and a strong defensive effort to pull away in the second half, outscoring the Wolves 42-25 over the final two quarters. Brooke Beresford led College of Idaho with 15 points, six rebounds, and two blocks, while Mia Austin provided a spark off the bench with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including two three-pointers.
Taryn Riley and Anna Mooney each contributed 10 points, with Mooney adding two three-pointers and a block. Ashton Adamson stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and a three-pointer, while Kylie Waltermeyer chipped in eight points and a game-high five steals. The Yotes shot an efficient 50% from the field and turned 23 Walla Walla turnovers into 28 points.
For the Wolves (7-17, 4-14 CCC), Chariah Daniels led the way with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Natalee Trevino also added 11 points, including a three-pointer and 4-of-6 shooting from the free-throw line. Walla Walla struggled offensively in the fourth quarter, shooting just 30.8% from the field while College of Idaho pulled away.
