Yotes Set Record in Explosive Win Over Walla Walla

CALDWELL, Idaho — The College of Idaho Yotes delivered an offensive clinic Saturday night, narrowly missing the program's all-time points record with a 133-66 dismantling of Walla Walla University at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center. The victory capped off a weekend sweep and extended the Yotes' winning streak to 12 games. The team also set a Cascade Collegiate Conference record for points scored in a CCC matchup, taking down a record from 2013-14.

In a game defined by precision and pace, the Yotes shot an astounding 83.3% (20-of-24) from the field over the first 13 minutes, racing out to a 73-33 halftime lead — matching their total scoring output from the previous night against Lewis-Clark State. College of Idaho ultimately set a single-game program record with 23 made three-pointers, surpassing the previous mark of 22 set in 2015.

Dougie Peoples led the barrage with 27 points, including seven three-pointers, setting an unofficial record for shots per minute with 16 shots fired in 15 minutes of play. Alex Germer added 19 points and knocked down five from beyond the arc, while Tyler Robinett contributed 17 points and showcased his defensive prowess with three blocks. Drew Wyman posted a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds.

Bryan St. Clair and Micah Mendiola also had standout performances off the bench. St. Clair's hustle and smart play led to seven points, four assists, and crucial defensive stops. Mendiola electrified the crowd with eight points, including two three-pointers, and added key rebounds to maintain the Yotes' momentum.

The Yotes' offensive explosion was complemented by a dominant defensive effort, as they held Walla Walla to just 39.1% shooting and forced 11 turnovers. The Wolves were led by Andrew Vaughan, who finished with 18 points and six rebounds. Almonds Sebirokwa chipped in 14 points and five rebounds, while Chike Ezeonu added nine points off the bench.

College of Idaho's bench was instrumental in the win, contributing 84 points and maintaining relentless pressure throughout the game. The Yotes fell just two points short of breaking the program record for most points in a game (135) but still delivered one of the most memorable performances in school history.

The Yotes (22-2, 17-1 Cascade Conference) will look to continue their momentum as they head into the final weeks of conference play.
