PORTLAND, Ore. — After navigating winter weather and a few unexpected detours, College of Idaho men's basketball arrived in Portland with a mission—and they delivered in dominant fashion. The Yotes rolled past Warner Pacific, 93-58, on Friday night at CC Perry Gymnasium, securing the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular-season championship in the process.
The Yotes wasted no time setting the tone, opening the game with stifling defense and efficient scoring. An early 23-9 run put Warner Pacific on its heels, and College of Idaho never let up. Shooting 58.3% in the first half, the Yotes built a commanding 50-18 lead at the break, fueled by sharp outside shooting and relentless play in the paint.
Johnny Radford led the charge from beyond the arc, knocking down four three-pointers on his way to 12 points. Samaje Morgan controlled the offense with 12 points, four steals, and two assists, while Straton Rogers provided a steady presence inside, tallying 11 points and eight rebounds. Off the bench, Alex Germer and Dougie Peoples added valuable scoring, each finishing with 12 points to keep the Yotes rolling.
Despite Warner Pacific finding more rhythm in the second half, the Yotes maintained control, using their depth to keep fresh legs on the court. College of Idaho's defensive pressure forced 24 turnovers, turning them into 31 points, and the team dominated the paint with a 52-18 scoring advantage.
With the win, College of Idaho continues its stronghold in conference play, looking to build on its momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
