POCATELLO, Idaho – The College of Idaho track and field teams delivered a record-setting performance at Idaho State this weekend, posting multiple school records, national-qualifying marks, and all-time top-10 program performances.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS:
Chris Shakespeare headlined the men's sprints, breaking school records in both the 60-meter dash (6.89) and 200 meters (22.20), qualifying for the finals in both events. Jeremiah Chukwudobe (7.09) and Dylan Wolfe (7.09) tied for the third-fastest 60-meter time in program history, while Cole Tanner (7.21) moved into the top-10 all-time at No. 10. Trevor Treat added another all-time mark in the 200 meters, clocking 22.83 to rank eighth in school history.
In the distance events, Hayden Bostrom shattered the school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:42.58 (altitude converted), hitting the NAIA "B" standard. Cyress Wilson followed closely, running 14:53.56 to move to No. 3 all-time, while Easton Utz (15:31.31) and Ashton Drage (15:34.83) entered the top 10 at eighth and ninth, respectively.
On day two, Zach Curtsinger improved his No. 2 all-time standing in the 400 meters (49.92), placing fourth at the meet. Braden Heath ran 8:23.81 (altitude converted) in the 3,000 meters, securing the No. 2 all-time spot and a National "B" standard. The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Trevor Treat, Zach Curtsinger, Dylan Wolfe, and Tanner Macy ran 3:25.21, placing fifth in program history.
In field events, Xavier Harms improved his No. 7 all-time triple jump mark to 12.93m (eighth place). Tanner Sackman won the weight throw with a massive mark of 18.24m, while Keenan Blair (16.75m, No. 5 all-time) and Tyson Terry (14.93m, No. 9 all-time) also broke into the record books.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS:
Charlotte Bowman dominated the sprints, setting school records in both the 60 meters (7.62, National "B" standard) and 200 meters (25.26), advancing to the finals in both events. She returned on day two to win the 60-meter final (7.66) and break her own 200m record (25.10), finishing fourth. Isis Villafane also made the all-time top 10 in the 60 meters (8.11, No. 10 all-time).
In mid-distance, Zoe Butler (1:39.99, No. 7 all-time in 600m) and Kylee Quinton (2:19.70, No. 6 all-time in 800m, altitude converted) added strong performances. Kiriann Johnson set a new school record in pole vault (3.56m), narrowly missing the national "B" standard.
Kahea Figueira produced one of the biggest results of the meet, running 9:53.49 in the 3,000 meters (altitude converted), the second-fastest time in program history and an NAIA "A" standard.
In throws, Star Herron improved her No. 2 all-time weight throw mark, reaching 17.17m, becoming just the second woman in program history to clear 17 meters. She also improved her national "B" standard mark, currently ranking 12th in the NAIA.
