CALDWELL, Idaho — College of Idaho senior Daniel Butler was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week following a record-breaking performance at the Lew Thorne Invite. This marks his fourth overall CCC Runner of the Week honor but his first for indoor track, with three previous honors coming during cross country season.
The Buhl, Idaho native finished first in the mile, recording an NAIA "A" Standard time of 4:07.37 — currently the second-fastest time in the nation — while setting a new school record. He also anchored the Yotes' distance medley relay (DMR) team to an "A" Standard and first-place finish with a time of 10:05.80.
Butler is no stranger to recognition. His success during cross country season earned him CCC Cross Country Runner of the Year, NAIA National Runner of the Week, and West Region Runner of the Year accolades. His recent indoor track accomplishments are simply a continuation of his dominant performances across multiple seasons.
